We see the Visual Letters project by two different generations of artists as an opportunity to come together, to get to know each other and to exchange ideas. On their journey from France to Armenia, the artworks will make a stopover in Munich and can be seen in the exhibition.

Visual Letters: We think of letters primarily as words - the exchange of thoughts. Instead of words, the artists have chosen to communicate through the exchange of their artworks. Living in different parts of the world, it is possible to work together on one and the same piece.

Through the reciprocal exchange of visual letters, each artist gently penetrates the other's space with their different artistic techniques and adds their own signature to it. The aim is to convey visual stories, new situations and wholeness through different signs and messages.

The first real meeting of the letter authors Maria Matinyan, Vahan Matevosyan from Munich and Vazgen Pahlavuni-Tadevosyan from France will take place in Munich in May 2024.

This project by two different generations of artists will be continued and is also part of the "Collaboration instead Competition" project as part of the Gyumri Art Week, which will be exhibited in Gyumri, Armenia in August 2024.
